Start your tour learning the art of the swirl, sniff and slurp from your expert wine guide while on the bus, to then try it out at range of cellar door tastings.
Stopping first at the Legendary Best's Wines for not only wine tasting of some of the oldest vines in Australia, with time for a guided underground cellar tour (which is currently not open to the public) to learn about the history of the region and they're wines. This vineyard has wine like no other, and you will find out more as we arrive and stop near the vineyard first before going into the cellar door. Wine tasting of course before heading off to our next location.
Next destination is Grampians Estate in Great Western - the birthplace of Sparkling Red - learn about this as you sample sparkling, whites & reds. This location is also stocked with local produce plus tea/coffee & other light snacks. (own expense) Plus this cellar door stocks other local produce from the region and great opportunity to stock up for yummy treats that will pair well with your wine.
Last you will visit ATR Wines, a cellar door that is off the beaten track, and also new to the public. Not new to wine, as the winemaker has been producing wine for many years internationally, however this hidden "wine lounge" gives you the opportunity to try some bold wines. OR we visit Pomonal Estate, a locals favourite since opening just a few years ago. A family run business that has something for everyone because this one stop shop produces their own wine, beer and cider.
From here you will be dropped back at your designated location about 2:30pm - just in time to take an afternoon walk through the National park or relax and enjoy the afternoon - with maybe some recent purchases!
Tour time: 5 hours approx.
